Welcome to the Women in the Arctic (WiA) website! This website is meant to be a bridging tool to help facilitate the promotion of scholarship and voices of women in and working on the Polar Regions.
There are Polar scholars and Arctic peoples around the world, but factors such as assess to funding, travel distances, and scheduling conflicts impact networking access. The WiA initiative helps to overcome these networking and information exchange barriers and help people come together to learn more about each others’ work and the possibilities available for Polar researchers.
