I am a Ph.D. Fellow at Nord University in the Norwegian Arctic, affiliated with the EU-funded JUSTNORTH project – Towards Just, Equitable and Sustainable Arctic Economies and Societies (justnorth.eu). My PhD is in Social Sciences studying environmental policy and news reporting. My research focuses on science communication and diplomacy in the Arctic, and I am currently investigating the role of news in environmental agenda-setting processes and policies associated with Arctic marine mammals.

I graduated with a Master’s Programme at SciencesPo’s Paris School of International Affairs in Environmental Policy and I hold a Bachelor of Honours in Journalism, Communications and Politics from Cardiff University. I am fluent in English and German, have working proficiency in French, and am currently learning Spanish and Norwegian.

I first started working on Arctic politics as an undergraduate research assistant and have since specialized in the region. In 2019, Dr. Hannes Hansen-Magnusson and I co-founded the science communication blog Arctic Relations – Stories and Scholarship (arctic-relations.info). On the blog, we publish a wide variety of stories from and about the circumpolar North, from riveting histories of exploration to heartfelt accounts of what life in the high North is like for Indigenous youth, entertaining polar film reviews, and fascinating fieldwork observations.

I am as part of the MINS research group. I co-founded the MINS Communications Team with Barbara Baczynska, working to improve the group’s science communication strategy.
